IPSWICH WANDERERS RESERVES 4 v. BURY TOWN RESERVES 3
RIDGEONS RESERVE LEAGUE
SATURDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER 2006
After the reserves opening match of the season last week, against AFC Sudbury, ended in a heavy defeat for the lads, the mood in the dressing room still remained very upbeat and this was evident against Bury Town today. After going a goal down within 5 minutes the boys responded fantasticaly well and scored 3 times in the next 30 minutes, then had a small lapse in concentration (probably thinking the game was won)and Bury scored 2 quick goals to make the half-time score 3-3.
The second half was very even for the first 25 mins until the team upped the tempo a bit and started creating a few chances, and eventualy scored from one of our several chances in the second half and this proved to be the winning goal as we held on firmly for the last few minutes to record an excellent win. After losing so heavily last week to Sudbury to get a result like this against Bury speaks volumes for the lads' effort and commitment, and the management team of Dowding, Holland and Parsley cannot praise them high enough, from 1 to 14 they were superb. The 3 subs that were not used were right behind the team all the way without showing any signs of disappointment because they were not used, this is great team spirit.
